Out of the Shadow Series.

Good friend and fellow author, Shirley Corder is promoting her current Out of the Shadow book series. These are great stories that give you a deep insight into the culture and people in Bible times.

I’m a fan of historical fiction and these books, while not technically fiction, are written in a style that appeals to me. They are a  great read and well worth checking out if you enjoy stories rooted in a Biblical narrative.

Shirley’s Reasons for Writing the Series
There are many Biblical characters who live in the shadow of other people or situations.

The purpose of this series it to highlight the lives and circumstances of some of these real people and draw them out of the shadows that loom over them. The books are written in narrative non-fiction, a genre where the stories are non-fiction, based on Scripture, but the story is given a certain amount of license. Where the story sticks as close as possible to the Biblical rendition, the author has included facts discovered through much research in order to allow the reader to see what the character’s life was probably like. Readers are encouraged to read the passages for themselves.

Shirley Corder is an author, a retired registered nurse, a pastor’s wife and a cancer survivor of nearly 20 years. She has a passion for encouraging writers to reach their full potential as well as helping those facing the challenges of cancer. Her book, Strength Renewed, Meditations for Your Journey through Breast Cancer, was published in America and available internationally.

She is contributing author to twelve books including four Guidepost and two Chicken Soup anthologies and has published hundreds of devotional messages and articles both in print and on the Internet. She is currently busy with a series titled, Out of the Shadow, in which she seeks to bring Biblical women who are hidden in the shadow of another person or situation, into the light.
